Description : The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) team, part of the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation within the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), intends to place a contract with Mawdsley-Brooks & Co Ltd for the supply of Single Oral Transmucosal Fentanyl Citrate (OTFC) lozenges for a period of 5 years (1 + 4 Option Years) with an estimated maximum value of £1.944M. This is necessary to ensure maintenance of the capability within an acceptable stockholding level.It is considered that this contract can be awarded using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice, pursuant to Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the UK Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations 2011 for technical reasons.Summary of the Technical Reason: Mawdsley-Brooks & Co Ltd are currently the only supplier (as directed by the Market Authorisation Holder) who can supply Oral Transmucosal Fentanyl Citrate (OTFC) lozenges in a single form.
