• The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) intends to go to market for a supplier to provide calibration, maintenance, logistics, and support services for a wide range of measurement instruments and protective equipment used by inspectors, specialists, and scientists across Great Britain. This notice provides an overview of the scope of services and expectations to inform potential suppliers ahead of the formal tender process. The contract is expected to run for an initial three-year period, with options to extend for up to two additional one-year periods. SERVICE OVERVIEW: HSE relies on calibrated equipment to support regulatory activity, scientific work, and enforcement action, including evidence that may be scrutinised in court. The supplier will be responsible for delivering a reliable, accredited, and auditable calibration service, ensuring equipment is available, and fit for purpose at all times. SCOPE OF SERVICES: Calibration and Maintenance: Delivery of a managed annual calibration programme; calibration-on-request services; maintenance, functional checks, PAT testing, and consumable replacement; use of UKAS-accredited laboratories where required; immediate reporting of failures; provision of digital calibration certificates. Equipment Exchange Programme: Management of an annual equipment exchange programme.
