Description:
The Council is intending to undertake a procurement exercise for a welfare advice service in the South Area of Barnsley. In order to help inform such an exercise, the Council in undertaking this pre-market engagement stage to explore what is available and seek feedback and guidance from the supply market. The potential requirement will be around: • Delivery of a welfare advice service accessible to residents in the wards in the South Area i.e. Wombwell, Darfield, Hoyland Milton and Rockingham. • Delivery of face to face drop in sessions at community venues within each of the aforementioned wards. • Delivery of a service that enables residents to obtain advice and support on a plethora of topics including but not limited to welfare, benefits, employment, power of attorney, etc. • It is a prerequisite that the successful provider will hold the Advice Quality Standard (AQS). As part of this exercise the Council is requesting responses to a number of questions detailed at Appendix 1 - Request for Information within the Pre-Market Engagement - Document for Suppliers. For further information, please download the information document and submit completed questionnaires via YORtender by the deadline of 12noon on 08/01/2026.
