Description : The Council are being provided with S106 money to build a Community Hub in the new development of Upper Lighthorne. The aim is to provide a community facility in the new village centre that aligns with the wider principles and vision for the community and creates a vibrant and viable village centre as a focus for community life. The Council is already working with the community to define what they need, taking into consideration the wider area; adjoining villages; what is currently already in place and new facilities that are proposed elsewhere on the new settlement, so that this hub offers something unique to the community that will enhance what it already has in place as opposed to duplicate provision. The community hub needs to align with the vision for the wider development where possible and appropriate. This vision includes healthy lifestyles, green initiatives, a variety of new skilled job opportunities, being well connected, community focused, walkable, with a range of new homes.
