SOFT MARKET TESTING (SMT) QUESTIONNAIRE Leicester City Council is reviewing current commissioning practises with regard to the range and capacity of its Disabled Children-s and Young People-s Short Breaks service.The service currently supports around 300 disabled children and their families to access short breaks opportunities. Depending on the needs and eligibility of the child/young person, a short break may include support to access activities in the community, play areas and youth groups, sports clubs, and scheduled, short-term overnight residential breaks, or foster placements, and some domiciliary care.The Authority currently commissions Children-s and Young People-s Short Breaks services on an ad hoc basis. It is anticipated that in the future a more formal process of contracting services from the market would need to be utilised as demand for services continues to grow and additional capacity and range of provision is needed. For this reason, the Council is carrying out this Soft Market Test to explore current provision available in the wider market in order to plan for future commissioning activity.This Soft Market Test gives potential providers and other stakeholders the opportunity to express their interests and feed in their views about the potential future service model and specification of the Children-s and Young People-s Short Breaks service.This process does not constitute a for...
