Restoration of Cranford Park

Project Description :- Building and Construction Works in relation to the delivery of a National Lottery Heritage Fund project for the restoration of Cranford Park, Cranford, Middlesex, TW5 9RZ Cranford Park, L.B. Hillingdon, is a country park of some 144 acres (58 ha), bounded by the A312 and the boundary with L.B. Hounslow to the east, Crane Meadows to the west and Cranford Lane and the outskirts of Heathrow Airport to the south. To the north, the M4 severs the park, the 8 ha. to the north of the motorway being bounded by North Hyde Gardens and the eastern edge of the Hayes Housing Zone. The two sections of the park are linked via two pedestrian subways. The aims of the Project are to restore and renovate the surviving buildings, structures, gardens and landscape for community and educational use, offering an increased range of opportunities for the community to discover and enjoy the heritage and natural history of the park, and providing appropriate supporting facilities. These outcomes will be met by: • Repair of the listed cellars and stables and their conversion to educational and community use, workshop facilities, and offices for site staff and Friends • Building of a cafe above the cellars, on part of the footprint of the former house • Opening up of the former Pleasure Grounds and Driveway vistas, with increased visibility and understanding of the historic landscape and the introduction of new planting as appropriate •...
