Abstract: The Current research information systems (CRISs) will collect and store information about an institution-s research activity. They will contain information that is entered directly into the CRIS as well as importing information from other institutional systems, with the aim of providing a single institutional view of the research activity. The other institutional systems might include HR systems, finance systems, grant management systems, institutional and data repositories and student systems. Much of this information will be for internal use only but some may be made public via a repository or web portal.
