project description - network rail is responsible for arranging insurance for the network rail managed stations, franchised stations and depots on the railway network. This insurance also covers the train operating companies which occupy the franchised stations and depots, with the insurance premiums being recharged to them. As network rail arranges this insurance, the obligation falls on network rail to ensure the sums insured for each station and depot are accurate. As part of our obligations in providing insurance detailed above, it is important for the sums insured reflect the current values at risk. The managed stations, franchised stations and depots are located across the entire railway network with the majority of managed stations located in large cities and towns. Network rail requires a supplier to provide up to date and accurate reinstatement cost valuations to network rail.
