Description : *** MARKET TEST / PRE MARKET ENGAGMENT*** Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council are intending to engage with the Market for Expression of Interest for a pilot scheme of a block booking of a local hotel or B&B to use for our Homeless households. BMSDC is looking to commission accommodation to meet the demand from applicants threatened with homelessness, in order for BMSDC to fulfil its duties under section 188 of the Housing Act 1996. The public sector Equality Duty (Section 149 of the Equality Act 2010) and the Council's allocation and procurement of temporary accommodation will have due regard to the need to: o Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, and victimisation; o Advance equality of opportunity between different groups; and o Foster good relations between different groups of any household with a member with a 'relevant protected characteristics' when placing in temporary accommodation.
