Description : Alexander Stadium is the central location for the Commonwealth Games 2022 hosting the opening and closing ceremonies as well as the athletics events. The site is currently being re-developed with the construction on track to the completed by April 2022 and handed over to the Organising Committee at the end of April 2022. After the games in August 2022, the stadium will undergo further construction works to transform the venue back into its permanent legacy format and thereafter will revert back to the control of the Council for its business as usual operation.
