Description : PPE recycling is an important sustainability initiative which can help in the reduction of waste as well as saving resources. It provides an opportunity for PD Ports to demonstrate their commitment to environmental responsibility. Between January 2022 and January 2023, Tees Dock and Hartlepool spent over £60,000 on over 7000 garments. The aim of this project is to procure a service that will collect the PPE from the company sites and recycle it, including hard to recycle garments such as safety glasses, safety boots and hard hats, with minimal PPE ending up in landfill.
