Abstract: 6802 - Pont Ffordd CadfanMajor Maintenance of highway bridge crossing over narrow gauge railway on Cadfan Road, Tywyn, Gwynedd. LL36 9ED and islocated within a residential area with houses close to the bridge and Penybryn Primary School 100m from the bridgeO.S. Grid ref 258951E 300721NThe majority of the bridge is constructed from brick with a steel trough and concrete infill deck . The brige is 10.4 m wide, 3.8mskewed span and the soffit of the bridge deck is 3m above the track bed.There are two independent metal footbridges either side of the highway bridge to carry pedestrians over the railway. At least one ofthese footbridges need to remain open at all timeThe works include1st PhaseErect and maintain Road closure traffic management and diversion signs during February school half term (February 19 to 27).Remove the road construction (approx. 375mm thick over the exiting bridge deck)Carefully expose the gas main and LV power cable crossing on top of the bridgedeck.Using hand tools remove the weak concrete surrounding the electric ductSurround all utility assets with in-situ concrete2.2Expose the ends of the concrete bridge deck and the sewer passing through the deckClean and prepare the top and the ...
