Lot 2 - IT Service Support for NIHR Learn Development, Infrastructure & Hosting

The NIHR Learning Management System (referred to as 'NIHR Learn') is a training platform that allows users to browse the available training and enrol on the relevant courses. Once a user has enrolled onto a course, the platform then allows them to complete their training and receive a certificate once complete. It is used annually by thousands of users with a plan to continue developing it further.

It is a Moodle platform (currently software version 4.3) with a range of Moodle 'plug-ins' (plus some bespoke coding). The basic scope is to host and provide application support for a Moodle estate which comprises;

A live environment
A test environment (to mirror Live)
A development environment

The Live instance (NIHR Learn) interfaces with other systems (e.g. CPMS) via an API, and has single sign on functionality with IDG.

NIHR RDNCC are seeking a supplier with Moodle development experience to take on the existing NIHR Learning Management System and provide managed support consisting of;

Working with business owners to deliver business changes in line with change budgets that have been set
Being responsive to changing business situations
Recognising that customer experience and usability are critical
Adhering to good security practices e.g. ISO27001 and development practices e.g. GDS
