Description : Birmingham City Council (The Council) wishes to raise awareness of the causes of air pollution and the steps that can be taken to reduce emissions and exposure. To achieve this aim, the Council is pursuing a range of projects, Pledge 2 aims at improving air quality around schools. The schools air quality monitoring project aims to raise awareness of air quality around Birmingham schools by providing an indicative real-time air quality sensor that is capable of monitoring for Nitrogen Dioxide and Particulate Matter. This particular project is aimed towards children and parents via the installation of up to 346 indicative air quality sensors onto the exterior fa?ades of schools (mix of primary and secondary), with one sensor deployed per school (there are 69 sensors already in place in Birmingham).
