Description : Service Overview The National Automatic Number Plate Recognition Service (NAS) Programme was developed by the Home Office to transform the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) capability available to UK Police Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on a national scale. The system the Programme provides is connected to all Police Forces in England, Wales and Scotland as well as 16 approved LEAs, allowing ANPR data from across Great Britain to be fed into a single system for the first time. The NAS System consists of three core components: Management Servers, which provide interface and connectivity with camera estates; a software application for alarming, dispatch and analysis for use in Police Operations; and managed Hosting Environments for the collation and storage of the ANPR data. The Home Office is currently receiving the following capability and is seeking a Supplier to deliver a solution that would provide equivalent capability and functionality following the expiry of the current Contract with the incumbent Supplier:Production service - full scale production environment with storage for 60 billion number plate reads and 96 billion images, available 24/7.
