IL & ILR Meters
This RFI is not part of a procurement exercise, nor will it result in one. BBC R&D intends to conduct production trials with prototype IL and ILR meters and invites manufacturers of waveform monitors or other suitable video processing hardware or software to provide information about their capabilities. BBC R&D will select one manufacturer to develop a prototype implementation of BBC R&D specifications for IL and ILR meters. This prototype will support BBC R&D`s standardisation activities, including contributions to the ITU-R relating to image brightness measurement. Participating manufacturers who are considered relevant will receive, subject to signing the BBC`s Non-Disclosure Agreement provided with this RFI, a copy of the draft BBC R&D specifications. The selected manufacturer will agree to implement BBC R&D`s requirements, provide engineering support, and deliver a prototype implementation. Any engagement will be at no cost and no liability to the BBC.
