The solution will enable DAERA to comply with Article 6 of R640/2014 of EU law, which has been directly transposed into The Financing, Management and Monitoring of Direct Payments to Farmers (Amendment) Regulations 2020. The LPIS is a map-based computerised Geographic Information System (GIS) that uniquely identifies and measures the extent of individual land parcels (i.e. fields) of agricultural land that farm businesses have registered with DAERA.
