Highway Maintenance Service
Future Delivery Model for the Highway Maintenance Service

Our Highway Term Maintenance Contract with Milestone Infrastructure terminates in March 2027 with no options to further extend the contract. The current contract started in April 2017 and over its 10 years will have had a value of over £400 million.

Work has started considering how our highway maintenance service will be delivered beyond March 2027.

We are appraising options for future delivery arrangements and holding discussions with other highway authorities on their future plans and recent procurement experiences.

To supplement this and inform the option appraisal, a questionnaire is available on the link below for the supply chain to indicate their views on the extent, duration, and form of contract preferred.

It would be helpful to receive any responses by 12 January 2024.

It is planned to take the option appraisal through the County Council-s democratic scrutiny process in the Spring 2024, with a final decision on the preferred option for future delivery being made in Autumn 2024 by the County Council-s Cabinet.
