- Description:
- Stray dogs found within the City Council boundaries delivered to the premises shall be kept by the Provider on behalf of the Council for a period of at least seven (7) consecutive days. If after that period the owner or keeper has not claimed the dog, the Council will offer and the Provider will accept the dog in accordance with Section 149(6) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.The Provider thereafter will bear full responsibility for the unclaimed dog, including all associated costs. The provider shall make all reasonable endeavours, to include the scanning of microchips, to identify and contact the owner of a dog received by the kennel within the initial 7-day period. Thereafter, the provider will use all means possible to rehome the animal.
