Description:
UKAEA has recently awarded a contract to build the Prototype Glove Box No.1 system. This glovebox will be used to evaluate options for remote handling of nuclear and other hazardous materials. Operational trials on Glove Box No.1 will commence in early October. The findings from these trials will be used to inform the range of improvements that need to be incorporated into the second glove box system.

Abstract: The services UKAEA is seeking feedback on are as follows:To award a single contract to a supplier to develop the final technical design for Glove Box 2 system from the final technical drawings from Glove Box 1 system plus agreed changes.A new set of detailed design drawings will need to be produced by the supplier and signed off by UKAEA. The supplier will also procure the glovebox components not supplied by UKAEA and manage the assembly through to final commission.In summary this procurement includes the following:1.
