Abstract: Newcastle International Airport is the North East's largest airport located about 6 miles northwest of Newcastle City Centre. The Airport consists of a single tarmac runway facilitating commercial, private and cargo flights on a daily basis. As part of the asset maintenance programme NIAL has commenced the renewal of its main asset, the single tarmac runway with the programme being split into three projects:1. AGL Design2. AGL Equipment Procurement3. Runway Rehabilitation WorksThe AGL Design work has been completed and a procurement process is currently in the final stages to appoint a Supplier to deliver the AGL Equipment.This pre-procurement engagement is for the final project, the Runway Rehabilitation Works. The Runway Rehabilitation Works consist of a localised keel inlay and full resurface, including all taxiways to CAT 2/3 holds.The procedure will follow the restricted procedure concluding with the appointment of a single contractor to deliver the Runway Rehabilitation Works.A...
