Description:
The Trust has a requirement for controlled environments for the preparation of high-risk injectable medicines into ready-to-administer (RtA) formats for patients. Aseptic facilities are also required for the manufacture of Advanced Therapy medicines including gene, cell and viral therapies, and a growing number of Investigational Medicinal Products used in clinical trials.

Abstract: The proposed aseptic service will have the capability and capacity to deliver timely and reliable medicines for chemotherapy, Parenteral Nutrition, CIVAS antibiotics, clinical trials and also support growing demand for advanced gene therapies. Quality and patient safety considerations are key with drug compounding including aseptically prepared, hazardous chemotherapy drugs and investigational medicinal.
