- Thames Water is undertaking early market engagement to inform a potential future procurement for the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of a new Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment system. The purpose of this notice is to gauge market interest, understand current capability, and gather insight from suppliers with relevant expertise in delivering sustainable bioenergy, waste-processing, and resource recovery solutions. The proposed Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment plant will support Thames Water in achieving its environmental, waste management, and decarbonisation objectives by converting crude sewage into renewable energy and potential nutrient products. As we develop our commercial strategy and technical specification for Anaerobic Wastewater Treatment systems, we are seeking feedback from experienced operators, technology providers, engineering consultants, and integrators with expertise of anaerobic wastewater treatment and wider bioresource sector. This engagement is not a call for competition and does not formally commence any procurement process.
