Description : This contract is for the appointment of a single contractor for the delivery project for Land of Lead and Silver.This Project includes the consolidation and repair works at eight priority structures being: Allen Smelt Mill and Silver Refinery (Northumberland); Allenheads Mine and Ore Works (Northumberland); Holmes Linn Lead Mine (Northumberland); Augill Lead Mine Smelting Mill (Cumbria); Nenthead Mine (Cumbria); Coldberry Lead Mine (County Durham) and Middlehopeshield Mine (County Durham). The requirements also include as set out within the tender the following as a minimum:• Access improvements at sites including Dow Gang Hush, Augill, Fletcheras Rake, Middle Level Greenlaws, and Coldberry, among others;• Heritage Skills training/visits for volunteers and the general public;• Be available for groups to talk about the work being undertaken;• Outside of the tender requirements for Themes and Outcomes Measures (TOM's) there is funding for 1 apprenticeship.FundingThis Project is to be funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with match funding from Historic England.
