Abstract: Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council (BGCBC) has commissioned a Strategic Outline Case in accordance with the requirements for Stage One WelTAG aimed at improvements to the Blaina Road Corridor in Brynmawr, to the south of the town centre. The study also takes into account movement to and through the town centre including links to the town centre particularly from areas to the south (Nantyglo)The focus area of the study comprised the following strategic sites and connections between them:1. Lakeside Retail Park including access to neighbouring communities;2. Former NMC brownfield site which has been consented for retail development and work has started on site;3. Stagecoach Depot Site (3a) and Austin & Sons Vehicle Repair Garage (3b) to the rear of the site and linkages to the neighbouring Warwick Road Park and housing estate;4.
