Construction of Red Smiddy to Erskine Active Travel Route Phases 4, 5 and 6
Renfrewshire Council wishes to appoint a single Contractor to undertake two contracts:1. Phases 4 and 5 will be for the construction of 1.4km of shared footway and cycleway from the end of the existing shared footway/cycleway on Greenock Road, round Red Smiddy Roundabout, north onto Southbar Road to Southholm Roundabout. There is an existing footway at Red Smiddy Roundabout which is widened, and new construction on Southbar Road. In places the existing carriageway is widened.2. Phase 6 will be for the construction of 0.616km of shared footway and cycleway from Southholm Roundabout to the overbridge on the A726 on the northbound verge. This will include the relocation of street lighting columns, road signs and installation of new drainage. The works will involve the construction of a ramp to create a connection to the existing footway overbridge over the A726.The Council will award both contracts for this project to one Contractor.
