The winning bidder will be required to provide fuel supply for the University's 995kW woodchip boiler as part of a drive to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs. Lancaster University receives Renewable Heat Incentive and the biomass boiler is expected to run until 2033, when the renewable heat initiative expires.
