Abstract: As part of the Dstl adsorbent material analysis capability, there is a requirement to acquire new analytical equipment. This desired expansion includes two pieces of equipment:• A Microscale Breakthrough Analyser o A piece of equipment capable of analysing breakthrough of hazardous vapours against adsorbent materials, and monitor the effluent concentrations of Hazards.o This testing is a key part in the understanding of adsorbent properties of materials against Chemical warfare agents and Toxic industrial chemicals. o As such, it supports and expands upon the micro-scale analysis capability.• A Dynamic Vapour Sorption Unit (DVS)o A piece of equipment designed to analyse adsorbent materials, determining their gravometric properties during exposure to contaminated airstreams.o This determines the adsorbent properties of the materials, as is necessary for our micro-scale analysis capability.
