- Personal Location Transmitters (PLTs), previously known as Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs), is a man overboard identification and location system which are carried on all Royal Navy submarines providing improved likelihood of survivor location following escape or abandonment in the event of a Distressed Submarine (DISSUB).
