Description : This Contract is for the supply of a Common Aviation Situational Awareness (CASA) Tool, for use on multiple rotary wing platform types (Apache, Chinook, Merlin, Wildcat, and Dauphin). CASA is envisaged to be a tablet based digital moving map with a wire/obstruction alerting system. The working assumption is that the proposed system uses third party software to be provided as part of the Contracted solution. This will enable a visual representation of the topography inclusive of obstacles which pose a threat to the platform in real-time. To be provided in addition, the solution will be required to host various applications such as ACANS, Sky demon, ADS-B In and pFLARM. CASA will have connectivity using GPS, 3G/4G cellular and Wi - Fi allowing real time updates of NOTAMS, weather and EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) functions, as a minimum. CASA will be an Aircrew Portable Electronic device, therefore independent of the airframe and integrated systems.
