Description : 3118/531.JN.NAMRC.21 Picosecond Laser and Scanning Head The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a SUBJECT MATTER on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Castings Group at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire. Scope of Requirement The Nuclear AMRC are looking to purchase a picosecond laser, scanning head, fibre optic cable and controller for use in the manufacturing process of large metallic components. The picosecond laser will initially be used for the removal of oxide layers and surface contaminants such as oil and cutting fluid, with a view to later purchasing suitable optics to use for laser for machining and surface texturing.
