    Description : 2994/517/CW/DPG/21 Hyperspectral Imaging System The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a Hyperspectral Imaging System on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Design and Prototyping Group at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire. Scope of Requirement Funding is in place for the AMRC to develop a material analysis research platform to showcase the latest technology to the industry in an integrated solution. A key enabling technology in advanced automation is intelligent machine vision systems capable of identifying material characteristics for conformance, sorting and analysis. Material sorting through noncontact vision-based identification will form a critical part of this demonstrator to highlight a viable way of separating materials to achieve significantly higher purity rates of recycled material than conventional sorting systems. Hyperspectral imaging systems utilising medium-wave infrared (MWIR) can acquire accurate information about the composition of an object that cannot be obtained using conventional vision systems.
